AIR POLLUTION AND RELATED HEALTH HAZARDS IN MY LOCALITY

ABSTRACT

Air pollurion is one of the most pressing environmental concerns.Air pollution damages our environmant and it also leads to variety of health issues and even death.The study aims at checking the air pollution in THIRUVANKULAM, my locality.our main focus is on health hazards caused by the air pollution in this area.

INTRODUCTION

    

       There is nothing quite like opening the doors and the breathing fresh, clean air.BUt how clean is the air you breath right now?.According to WHO air pollution is one of the works biggest killers.Because air pollution kill quietly and retentlesslt and its finger is hard to detect or trigger .people is barely seem to notice or care.

Air pollution is now one of the most pressing environment concerns.Air pollution damages our environment and it leads to variety of health issues and even death.if we came to know the issues of air pollution with in our area, only then we will understand the necessity of preventing air pollution.There are many steps we as an individual can take to lower our own environmental impact, particularly when it comes to air pollution.But it is only possible when we starts to analyze this problem.It is in this context, "AIR POLLUTION AND RELATED HEALTH HAZARDS IN MY LOCALITY, THIRUVANKULAM" gains importance.

OBJECTIVES

* To understand the extend of air pollution and contributing sources of air pollution  in thiruvankulam.

*To know the health hazards due to air pollution that are caused among people.

*To understand , whether they take any measures to check and control air pollution in thiruvankulam.

*To make people aware of health issues caused by air pollution and makes them understood the need of controlling the source of air pollution in our houses.

ANALYSIS  AND INTERPRETATIONS

The study on air pollution and related health hazard was done among the people of Thiruvankulam.The survey was done among the people of 15 houses using the questionaire that is already preparde.The data collected from questionair and personal invesigation were subjected to percentage analysis. 

           From the analysis , it seems that most of tg respondents are facing health issues due to air pollution.Most of them have breathlessness issues.Almost all the house have a smoker living in there.Also it is evidended that, since most of them burns plastic wastes and other house hold wastes in their house itself it act as the source of air pollution.Everyone have an average of one two wheeler  each and most of them use other private vehicle rather than the public transport.The irregular pollution checking of private vehicle , traffic are also the reason for air pollution in this are.

CONCLUSION 

The present study aims at understnding extend of air pollution and health hazards caused by it at Thiruvankulam.The unhealthy waste disposal methods, smokers, over dependence of private vehicles, irregular pollution testing, traffic dust from the roads , constructions are the major reasons for the air pollutions in thiruvankulam which leads to health issues like asthma, breathing problem, skin , eye and nose irritations in  people among thiruvankulam.All together it is pointing towards rapidly growing air pollution issues.

       As a responsible member of our environment , every member or person has duty to control the effect of air pollution by checking its growth.Every citizen should have adequate knowledge regarding this issue.It is necessary to design and implement activities regarding aspects of air pollution.Every citizen should gain the awarness regarding source of air pollution.It is important to study about air pollution since it is one of the greatest crime ever committed.
