STUDENTS VS MOBILE PHONES.....

A STUDY ON THE INFLUENCE OF MOBILE  PHONES    AMONG THE HIGHER SECONDARY STUDENT

            It was Martin cooper who invented the mobile phone for the first time ,in the year 1970.  When he invented mobile phone it was just a gadget for communication.  But now it has got various phases like surfing internet,listening music, as calculators, as alarms, for a shopping, for texting, for banking etc etc.  Now anything and everything is available in mobile phones.  People are very much fascinated by its facilities.While considering the entire population the younger generations are more found of mobile phones.  It is in this contexts i had  conducted a study entitled “A STUDY ON THE INFLUENCE OF MOBILE PHONES AMONG HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL” to find out how the students approaches the mobile phones and how their academics is affected by the usage of mobile phones.

            From the study it is obtained that most of the students owns their mobile phone or uses the mobile phones of their parents or relatives .Which means ,mobile phones are very much available for them.  Most of the students are spending hours in their mobile phones that too not for the academic purpose but for gaming, social networking etc. Which  means  they are just wasting their valuable time for the things which are not that much important. It is fine to spend some time for leisure. But it is always better to spend our leisure time productively.It is evidended from the study that most of  the students are not disagreeing for the question regarding using the mobile phones in schools.Actually they are interested in bringing mobile phones to schools .such an attitude has a great chance to distracting the students from their studies. They considering mobile phones a the symbol of their status. Another important factor is that almost 30% of the students considers mobile phones as the part of their life!!! .Other 30% considers mobile phones as really important. From just a communication device to becoming the part of life! All these changes in the attitude of the students is a danger sign.This will definitely affects the students academic and personal life negatively.

If the fascination for mobile phone is not controlled ,then it  will become a part of their life and a situation  will come where they can’t live without mobile  phones.

From the study we can conclude that mobile phones are invading the students academic as well their persona life.  They are slowly getting addicted to the mobile phones.

            Technologies are made for the good of the man it  should be used in the right sense to get  it benefits in the right way.

The attitude and approach of students towards mobile phone has changed drastically. Students should try to use the beneficial aspects of mobile phone.  Instead of wasting the time for unnecessary internet surfing’s and  other unnecessary things students should use mobile phones for their study purpose and for knowledge acquisition .  It is good to expose to society  or  it is good to spend some time for leisure in social networking but we should be careful to not to met with cyber traps. And it  is always better to  avoid the use of mobile phones  in schools.  It will help the students to not to get distracted from their studies. It will affects their physical health also ,spending hours in mobile phone will cause problems to vision and other health problems.  Mobile phones are really useful and beneficial.  All that matters is how you handle it .Use  the mobile phones wisely and productively.

            Don’t get addicted to mobile phones. Always keep in mind that it is just a gadget for communication.
